MUSE Design Awards 2026
Gold Winner
HRK+ is proud to announce that Elia House, Roseville has been awarded Gold at the 2026 MUSE Design Awards in the Architectural Design – Residential category.
Water at the heart of the home
The award recognises the architectural thinking behind Elia House and marks an important achievement for the HRK+ Architecture team.
At the centre of the design is a simple idea: to make water part of the everyday experience of the home.
Rather than positioning the swimming pool separately within the backyard, it is designed as an inhabited courtyard at the heart of the residence. The kitchen, dining and living spaces unfold around it, with generous glazing bringing water, planting and sky into view across the ground floor.
As daylight changes throughout the day, reflections from the pool move through the surrounding spaces, creating an evolving relationship between light, water and architecture. Natural ventilation, carefully positioned openings and a restrained palette of warm, tactile materials further strengthen the connection between inside and outside.
Thoughtful architecture for everyday living
The planning also responds to the changing needs of family life. Open communal areas encourage connection, while a separate sitting room, guest suite and study provide flexibility for privacy, visitors and working from home. The upper level forms a quieter retreat, separating the bedrooms from the activity of the main living spaces below.
For HRK+, residential design is about more than the appearance of a building. It is about how natural light enters a space, how rooms connect with one another and how thoughtful architecture can enhance everyday living.
The MUSE Design Awards Gold recognition reflects this approach and represents an important international acknowledgement of the design and delivery of Elia House.
We thank our clients, consultants and the HRK+ Architecture and project teams who contributed to bringing the design vision to life.
